A relaxing day....

With all the busy days in December, I told myself that today I was not going to leave the house. For a change I spent time doing much of nothing, except cleaning my condo. My goal was to take down the tree today, but that did not get done. I did do a lot of organizing and cleaning, so I feel good about that. Madeline had a nice day playing with her toys, but then this evening her best buddy Sarah came over for a sleepover. Just minutes ago as I was on the computer they came in and I was able to snap some photos of them playing dress up. They are just too cute playing. Of course my clean house is starting to look like toy land, but that's ok...they are having a ball.

Our Christmas!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Santa arrived at our place and Madeline was very excited. I took a few pictures of our morning, and of course a picture before I let her walk out to see what Santa had left. Her main wishes for this year were a "Baby Alive", wets and wiggles doll, play make-up and a Leapster L-Max. Of course Santa delivered! She was very excited about everything.

Picture before Madeline came out to see her toys....
Madeline very happy and already p[laying with her new toys...in her hand, a color changing Little Pony...

Another happy moment with her looking over everything.
Posing, again....

The big thing this year my brother shared with us was his new Karaoke machine. It was quite fun. He had rented Karaoke Cd's from the Do Wop Shop and we had over 1200 songs we could choose from. We had a ball singling and taking turns on stage. Of course some of us sounded horrible, but that was all the fun. In this pic above, my brother Bill and nephew Zach take their turn singing to "Grandma got ran over by a reindeer"
Cheese! - Madeline waiting for her presents.
The kids getting ready to tear open their presents. My mom wraps the kids presents all in the same paper for each. As soon as we said "go" they were off, ripping open the presents in minutes. It was quite a show, and fun too.

We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!

T'was the night before Christmas...

These pictures were taken tonight, Christmas Eve, rightbefore bedtime. As of 11pm, my little girl was still wide awake asking about Santa. She kept telling me to not to forget to wake her when he came into our house. I told her that Santa did not come in unless she was asleep. Anyhow, I went in to check her again and she was asleep. She loves....posing for pictures, tilting her head, and putting her hands on her face. She also loves to take pictures of her and her "baby" named Avery. She carried her all day today because she also got some new clothes from American Girl for her. She even had her pictures taken with Santa holding the doll- so cute.

As we enjoy time with our family and friends, think of the gift of life. On my blog at the top I mention a friend of mine from my childhood that passed away on Wednesday. She left behind 3 children and a husband. Please say a prayer that they get through this holiday with the love and support of their family.
Madeline & I thank our friends and family for a wonderful 2007 and to many more memories to come.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Madeline's Pre-School Christmas Program

Madeline with her cousin Zachary above and a picture of Madeline below (a little fuzzy) of her singing on stage..

Yesterday was Madeline's Christmas program at her school. I would love to post a video of her singing because she was so good. My video camera is a tape, and not digital, so I don't think I can- but will work on it. Honestly she was the loudest in the entire group and was complemented over and over after the show how well she sang. She amazes me! The pic of her on stage is quite dark, but there are a few more pics I took after the show with her friends and teacher. My great aunt Rita, my nephew Zachary, my mom, and dad all attended the show. What a fun day!

Dancing Class! Parents Show Week

Last night was Madeline first parents show week at her Ballet School. Since us parents do not get to see our little ones in class, twice during the year we get to watch the whole hour. Of course the girls were a bit shy as first, but then danced away. Madeline loves tap and ballet. I took a few pictures, but it was hard since there were mirrors all over the room. I kept getting a flash bulb lights in the pictures. Below are a few that turned out good.

Mommy & Madeline shopping day!

Last Saturday we headed out to the fairgrounds to check out the Christmas gift show. We had a fun time just looking at all the decorations and the people, and of course shopping. Madeline loved the nativity scene they had setup. Shes been learning at school all about Jesus, Mary, Joseph and the manger and all about the true meaning of Christmas. Shes quite knowledgeable on the subject and told me all about it as we toured the display. We also liked watching all of the train displays and making a few stops to "pose" for a picture. We came home with some new hair bows, a dress for her build-a-bear, and pretend snow (since we seem to not get any here in Louisville) This snow is so cool. Its a powdery mix and when you pour water on it, it grows right before your eyes to a ball of cold- "feels like" type snow. What a fun day it was to just be together- just the 2 of us!

Ok, so I take a lot of Madeline, so I had to try to get me in one picture!

She wanted a picture with the upside down tree Another "pose" for a picture

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!

"Madelines Christmas" Play

This weekend was a fun holiday weekend filled with fun events. On Saturday we went to see the play, "Madeline's Christmas" at the Kentucky Center for the Arts. We had a wonderful time and made it a girls night out. My Mom, aunt Chris, and my Great aunt Rita all attended the play, then we all went out to dinner afterwards on the river. It was a great play and great fun. Below are some pictures from the evening.

Picture taken at the play.

I view from outside our condo. We love decorating with lights. We decorate as much as we can since we really do not have a yard.

Christmas Pictures 2007

This weekend we got Christmas pictures taken at Sears. They turned out pretty good. With Portrait Innovations being booked until after the holidays, this was the only place available. Madeline, as she always is, was a little model. She loves posing, but sometimes ends up with a "fake" smile. She insisted on taking a picture with the rocking horse, which ended up being my favorite pose. Overall they went well. My mother and I decided to get a picture made as well of all 3 generations.
