Favorite Foto Friday #22- "Summer Lovin"

This week's theme is "SUMMER LOVIN"! We just love summer and enjoy lots of fun activities too. It seems like time is flying by and we haven't even done some of our favorite summer events. We have a lot of plans in the month of July before Madeline heads off to Kindergarten in August...so here are a few fun things we have done so far to make us LOVE summer.....

Madeline LOVES catching water on her tongue!

She LOVES riding the pool wave boat...

She LOVES summer birthday parties with friends....

Kite flying & playing outside and her favorite LOVE is blowing bubbles and chalk drawing outside

Her new LOVE is jumping really ,really high into the pool. A huge change from last year when she wouldnt even let her face get wet. Now she's going under water....

Going to the zoo... she LOVES hanging out with my cousins little boy Sam...

We LOVE heading out to Kentucky Kingdom to enjoy the rides. (We have not gone to our favorite part yet, the waterpark) Every time I plan to go it rains, go figure. We are hoping to within the week!

Gotta LOVE those church picnics! We love going to our local Catholic church picnics. It was always a huge tradition to go while I was growing up too. We play the booths and win toys, and jump in the inflatables...what fun Madeline has. Last week I couldn't get her to slow down to take a picture. This is the best one I got!

Swimming with friends. LOVE IT! We love to head to the pool. The picture above is with her friend Caitlyn.....She had a ball playing with her at the pool.

This year our family vacation to Orlando, FL. is not until October. We
LOVE Disneyworld. This will be Madeline's 5th trip to the Magic Kingdom. Madeline is already counting down the days until we get on the plane and go. I will have to take her out of school, but plan on this being the only year I will do that.

I hope everyone is getting some "SUMMER LOVIN"......my love is enjoying my time with my daughter and watch her face light up doing the things she loves.....priceless......

PS. Something I am not "lovin"--gas here today went up to $4.29....This is getting quite scary. I just read online that they are predicting gas to be at $7 in the year 2010. Let's hope this is not true....check out my gas timeline on the side of my blog.

Bowling!

Today we spent our evening bowling & dinner with friends. One of the girls in Madeline's ballet class asked us if we would like to go bowling. (Well us mommies planned it) We all had such a great time. Sarah's mommy actually went to my high school- she was a senior when I was a freshman and we enjoy chatting of course and watching the girls laugh and play. We wanted to make sure we kept in touch when the girls were out of ballet for the summer and she picked the perfect fun- BOWLING! Madeline was so excited to go and has soon as she got on her bowling shoes she was dancing all around with excitement. It was almost like she had on tap shoes. Sarah & Madeline had a lane and us mommies had a lane too. The girls did really well bowling on their own (with rails up). They only used the ramp once and then decided to push the ramp to the side and bowl on their own. Madeline got the hang of it right from the start and even bowled a "92" one game --WOW.

This was Madeline getting ready to bowl. She did so good even bringing her arms and ball to one side and then rolling it. She only used the squat and roll once like pictured below. I was so proud of her. She just giggled the entire time so I know she was having fun!

Sarah and Madeline were being so goofy. It was like the shoes put dancing and goofiness right into their bodies LOL.

Madeline taking her turn..

The girls acting goofy before we were leaving. After bowling we decided to get some dinner and headed to Applebee's. It was a great evening just to be with some friends and have some fun. We are planning on trying to do this again soon. The bowling ally we went to has $1 Mondays and it was very cheap & soooo much fun.

Favorite Foto Friday #21- Madeline's Male Role Model

If you have read my blog before, Madeline's daddy is not in our life and it's way too long & somewhat private, of a story to go into. Anyhow, the man in her life is her pop-pop (grandpa/my dad). I know have posted this picture many times on here, but it is my favorite of the 2 of them. As I looked through pictures I noticed I also needed some new ones of the 2 of them. He has been a big part of Madeline's life since she was born. He babysits and is always there when I need him. He took care of her as a baby when I was working my long retail hours and was there to change diapers, feed her, play with her, and give her 100% attention. I couldn't have done it without him. Their special day is on Thursday evenings when I work my part-time job at Gymboree. He picks her up from daycare, takes her to his house, feeds her a snack, spends time with her, takes her to our condo, gets her ready for bed, and kisses her goodnight. WOW, what a male role model. She adores him to.

Thanks dad for being such a great male role model for my little girl. I love you!
Love Lisa

Growing up so fast...

Just a quick Wednesday post of a picture of Madeline I took after her bath last week. I had just got done making a small trim to her hair and it had curled up so pretty. Madeline has never had her hair cut at a hair salon. I just make the small trims myself. She didn't get hair till she was almost 2 so it has taken her 5 years to get to this point. So at age 5 we finally have "long" hair (past her shoulders when dry) and beautiful ringlet curls. Everyday we pull her hair back on the top or in a ponytail. When her hair dried after the bath and it was down she looked so much older. It was almost like I was viewing my child as a young teen (scary)

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week. I cannot believe it is already Wednesday and June 18th. Where does time go? See everyone on FFF.

Fathers Day

The above picture was taken on Sunday and pictured is Madeline, me, and my dad. I couldn't get the picture any larger since I copied it off of shutterfly. My dad is the number one man in mine and Madeline's life. My dad has been there for both of us since the day I was born and Madeline was born as well. He takes care of me & Madeline from --babysitting so I can work at Gymboree, helps me if I need anyting done at my condo, does my yearly taxes, and numerous things that I can can go on and on about. I also have the pleasure to work with my dad everyday at my job. We have a close relationship and I get daily dose advice. Even though he can at times be overwelmingly protective of how I spend my money, he is a strong support in our life. I thank god for the love and support I have from him and feel very lucky everyday!

This year has been a big year of change in our family. My grandfather moved to Atria independent living and is doing great at his new home. Yesterday we went to a brunch to celebrate fathers day. How lucky am I to have my grandpa in my life and Madeline have her great-grandpa! Pictured above is L to R: my uncle -Gary, my grandpa- Bill, and my dad- Bill

Great Pop-pop playing around with Madeline. He adores her and she loves him and contantly gives him hugs!

Madeline saying cheese at the brunch!

We had a wonderful day with the men in our life. Later that day we met up with some friends for a fun day of swimming. I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Favorite Foto Friday #20- Bloopers

With the invention of the digital camera I am one of those picture takers that deletes a bad picture right away. I am usually one that constantly has to delete pictures from the camera just to take more because I walk around with the memory full. So if I get a bad picture, I delete it within seconds of taking. So today's FFF was not at all easy. I have posted a few pics...maybe 2 being possible bloopers. I tried. I guess you can call me a "blooper deleter"....

I turned to take a picture of Madeline and she surprised me with this

Sort of a blooper. I wanted a picture of both girls and Madeline ruined it with her hands, blocking her own face....

This was taken this morning. Madeline has crazy energy in the morning. We are spending the day together since I got a surprise day off. We were going to head to the water park, but it looks like it's going to rain around noonish, so that ruined our plans...

OMG, maybe a blooper....the hula hoop fell and her eyes were partly closed.

My girl is one good hula hooper!

I hope everyone has a nice weekend. They are calling for storms here later, but I know it's worse north of here and other parts of the country where flooding is also happening. I hope everyone stays safe.
Thanks for visiting our FFF!

Keeping cool!

This past weekend we kept cool in the pool! Madeline's best friend Sarah had her 6th birthday party at her house and it included swimming. The theme was a "luau" with great food, a pinata, and limboing! What fun. The kids had a ball swimming and jumping on the bouncer. Even though the waether was in the 90's, it was a lot of fun. We also spent Sunday afternoon at the same friends swimming again and having a ball. Sarah & her sister got a new wave boats that were motorized and shot water out of the front and the girls had a blast riding on them

Overall we had a great weekend even with the hot tempertures and humidity here. We were also able to attend our church picnic this weekend. Madeline was very excited to ride some rides and also play some of the booth games. She left winning 3 stuffed animals at the bean bag toss...she was so happy.

We hope everyone was able to enjoy the weather and had a great weekend like we did.

Favorite Foto Friday #19- Summer Already!

OK, so I didn't go with this week's theme. I didn't have one picture to fit with Messy spaces/disorderly conduct. I have to admit I could have taken a picture of a room at my house this morning before I left for work to post here, but forgot. The theme was challenging and I love following the theme each week.

Below are some pictures of Madeline at 6 Flags- Kentucky Kingdom. This is the 2nd year we have bought season passes. We love the waterpark and rides. Last Saturday we headed out just to ride some rides and have fun. It's already very hot here in Louisville. We have a weekend plan of being in the pool!

Everyone have a nice and COOL weekend!

Kite Flying

With a little wind in the air Madeline got the idea to pull out her Barbie kite we bought last year and head outside. She had a ball flying her kite, and so did I. The winds were a little choppy and would pull the kite in all kinds of directions. I snapped a ton of pictures, but just posted a few. Madeline even wanted her "baby" to join the fun and carried her in her arms the entire time. You can tell we had a great exercise.....Madeline was so worn out she fell asleep right on the couch when we came in the house... It was too funny how she was sleeping, so of course I had to capture that too.
Check out the bottom of the blog for more family news..........

We added a new member to our family this morning! My cousin Megan and her fiance' Matt had their 1st baby this morning--a baby girl --- Taegyn Robling, born June 4th, 2:15 am, 6 lbs, 12oz. and 20 3/4th inches long. I am also proud of Megan for having a natural birth and no epidural! You go girl! Congrats and celebrate this day!

Weekend Party Girl!

This weekend was one of our busier ones. Madeline had 2 birthday parties on Sunday along with many other countless events we had to attend. I got some pictures at the 2 birthday parties she attended on Sunday. One was from her school, Summer, and the other was my cousin's little boy, Sam. Both parties were filled with jumping and playing. Below are some of the pictures of Madeline's fun day.

Madeline & her friend Abbi

Sam with his birthday cake. He too wanted a cake like Madeline's- Spongebob! We were singing to him here and he was a bit shy and didn't smile.

I have a ton more pictures of our fun weekend I will do in another post. I was able to head out and see the "Sex & the City" movie. I LOVED IT. I am a huge fan and watched every show every season when it was on HBO. I still watch all the reruns and have tapes and DVDs of the shows. The movie is awesome and it really adds closure to the show. Even if you didn't watch the show, it still is a good movie to go see and you will enjoy and pick up on quickly. At times I laughed so hard I almost pee'd in my pants.....LOL
