Favorite Foto Friday #39 (belated)- Thankful!

Just a quick to post update you on our busy holiday weekend. I took a few pictures about a week ago when Madeline & I put up the tree. Our kitten, Mac, loves his new spot tucked under the tree. I was afraid that he would be up in it, or trying to chew on lights, but he could care less. He just likes the protection it provides. Madeline took the picture of her and a Rudolph ornament by herself. Thought it turned out kinda cute.
As many of you know I work at Gymboree part-time. I worked on Black Friday and let me tell you, we were slammed. People are out spending their money! Our line in our store was a 2 hour wait. Of course it doesn't help our Gymboree only has 2 registers, but we did have have some unbelievable deals. It was a lot of fun. I love working that day. I have always loved retail and used to work in Management for 12 of my 19 years of working retail alone. To be honest, I would rather be working then out there in the mess of a crowd and standing in lines myself. Anyhow, I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. I will be celebrating Thanksgiving Sunday since my brother and sister in law are now in town. I will post pictures in the next day or 2 of our family then. Happy Thanksgiving!

Favorite Foto Friday #38- My goofy girl

Once again I could not find any pictures to go with the FFF theme this week of "For crying out loud"~ which would be pictures of Madeline crying/upset. I realize that I must be a repeat picture deleter off my camera if I don't get a smile or the right picture. These themes make me realize I need to capture more of those kind of moments. I do have some of her when she was a baby crying, but do not have them on the computer. So I have posted some pictures from this past weekend. We had just got to my mom's house from getting our Christmas pictures taken and Madeline had picked up her meemaws reading glasses and thought it was fun to wear them. It was so funny to see her in them. Of course I got some pictures.

I am so happy today is Friday and tonight Madeline and I are looking forward to staying home tonight putting up the Christmas tree while watching a movie I just got that Madeline loves~ Alvin & the Chipmunks. She told me on the way to school, "Mommy, let's stay in, put up the tree, make hot chocolate, and watch the movie". Wow, what a perfect evening........
Everyone have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by my blog:)

Sleepover fun!

This past weekend Madeline had her good friend Macy over for a sleepover. Of course I had to take pictures. They had such a good time playing and just doing whatever they wanted to do. Both girls are single children and Macy and her mother live in the condo where I live. It has been great to have a neighborhood friend plus Macy's mommy and I have also become good friends. This was Macy's first sleepover and she did wonderful. They played until 11:15pm and passed out around 11:30. Of course they were up bright and early. I promised them a trip to the donut shop. So we headed to Krispy Kreme. They were so happy to get there and get a hat and watch through the window at the donuts being made. This place was so bad and so tempting. I was good and only ate 2 and the girls each had 1...go figure. They only ate ONE donut!!! Anyhow, it was a great time and it was all about the girls that day.
Below are the pictures I took. They are all out of order!

We had a wonderful time and I was able to get some stuff done around the condo as they played, so I loved it to. Plus Macy's mommy cleaned her condo~so us mommies loved it.
I hope everyone is having a great week. Be sure to check back Friday for FFF!!!

Favorite Foto Friday #37-"Loving the Boat"

I have finally posted again on Favorite Foto Friday. I always love following the theme, but I looked through every pic I had on here and could not find ONE kissing picture. I thought, how sad. I decided to post pictures of Madeline from last weekend when we were at the mall. One of our malls here has what everyone calls the "boat". It is a big boat that kids can climb on and slide down the mini slide on the back. We happened to be there at closing time and no other kids were on it. She had a ball jumping off the sides and I took some pictures of course. As far back as I can remember, Madeline has loved going and playing on the boat. I used to have to park at the exit right by the boat when she was 2-3 years old and when it was time to go, I had to carry her kicking and screaming. We could even be passing by the mall in the car and she would yell, "Mommy, I wanna go to the boat". It has been a nice thing to have because us Mommies that shop in that mall always use, "if your good while mommy shops you can go play on the boat".It was an easy "bribe" and it always worked.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Its a beautiful 63 and sunny here now, but we are expecting a cold front and very cold weather and snow flurries tonight. We are off to enjoy the rest of this wonderful day!
Thanks for visiting our blog.

Florida Vacation~October 2008

Yes, it is me! Finally a post. I still have not got back into the swing of things after a very busy month of vacation, school, and my facebook obsession. Its been a great year and amazing how fast time flies. I have posted A LOT of pictures today from our vacation to Orlando. We went to the Magic Kingdom one day and had a wonderful time. My mom and dad also went. The weather was beautiful, but the park was quite crowded. A lot of fall breaks we believe fell the same week. We still had a wonderful time watching Madelines face light up at everything. She knew exactly what she wanted to do and where she wanted to go, since this was her 5th time to the park. It was all about her that day and we just sat back and enjoyed all the moments!

We stayed until close this year and got to see the light parade. I took a ton of pics, but too many to post. Here is one of Cinderellas carriage.

Madeline holding her Mickey. Check out the cool bushes in the background.

Madeline's favorite ride, the teacups. Here she is pictured with my mom, her meemaw.

Holding on tight to Mickey. I really thought she would have picked out a Minnie Mouse, but she insisted on her Mickey. She carried him around the rest of the day.

We were able to see my cousin while we were there with their little girl, Taegyn. They live in Lakeland, Florida which is only 30 minutes from Orlando. Pictured above are me, Madeline, Matt, Megan (my cousin) and their little girl Taegyn.

Madeline having fun in the water fountain while out at a mall. The water shot up so high you could run underneath the spouts. She had a ball running under them. Another pic below.

Swimming, which she loves to do. Getting ready to jump.

Running under the fountain....

Another day at the pool

The first day we got there as we were checking in, our condo had kids activities in the lobby and out by the pool area. Madeline got her face painted.

Getting ready one night before heading out for dinner, holding on tightly to Mickey.
We had a wonderful vacation which seems like forever ago, even though it was only 3 weeks ago. I am very grateful to my parents who are able to give me & Madeline a nice family vacation. We enjoy the time together and we wouldn't know what we would do without them. So thanks, Mom & Dad (meemaw & Pop-pop), We love you.

Halloween & my new obsession!

Yes, can you believe it. I finally updated my blog. I thought I would start with Halloween and work my way backwards from all the exciting events going on in our life, vacation, parties, family times. Below are pictures from Halloween night. Madeline changed her mind at the last minute to dress as a witch. It is the first time in 3 years she has not been a Disney character. She looked so grown up! We had a great time with our friends. We drive over to our close friends house because we live in a condo and do not have neighbors to go door to door.

The girls after trick or treating.. Sydney, Macy, Madeline, Sarah..
So on to my new obsession. Have you wondered why I had been a little behind in blogging. In one word FACEBOOK. I got a facebook page a few months ago and now have been addicted to it. Its quite amazing. I have got in touch with people from grade school, high school, and long lost friends. It has been like a reunion everyday. I also have met and have on my facebook many bloggers I have met through FFF and blogging. It is very cool. You know what everyone is doing all the time, you can send them "flair", "greenie friends", "cocktails", and just chat. If you want to check it out, you should. Its an amazing site. People will find you and you can post pictures, etc.
So that's what has been up with me. I get onto Facebook and can't seem to get off or update this blog. So I am going to try and get back to my regular posting. I miss everyone here in blogland. Hope everyone is dong well. If you happen to get onto facebook, be sure to look me up! (Lisa Powell)
