Favorite Foto Friday- #33- HOPE, for electricity!

Would you believe IKE made an entrance to Louisville, KY! Well it did. Sunday the winds came in around 10:30am and shook Louisville around a bit until 4pm! Over 301,000 people were without power as of Sunday evening, myself included! All schools were called off and most businesses were at a standstill with no power. It was hard to even find a fast food place open. By Monday some power was restored to some...but word was they were concentrating on the huge Ryder Cup event happening here in Louisville this week. Thousands of people from Europe and the world here for the famous golf tournament! I have not taken any pictures myself because my battery is down on my camera. I copied some pictures from one of our news stations of what it looks like many places in the city. Luckily the condo I live in only had some doors damaged and shingles off the roof.

Madeline went back to school today. Most private catholic schools were back in session, but all public schools were called off the rest of the week. I am still without power today, Friday, midnight...hoping for power soon. I have lost most of my freezer food and was able to save some fridge and freezer food by bringing it to my office where I work. I know the city is working hard and only has so many people to get power lines restored. I have been staying with my parents, so at least I have a nice bed and a roof over my head. For other parts of the country they are not so lucky.

I "hope" everyone is well and I know a lot of people were impacted by the storm and winds. We have been very lucky and have had no rain and awesome temperatures here, cool nights, 55 degrees, and cooler days from 70-80 degrees.
Everyone have a wonderful weekend....

*Update #1- Still no power as of today, 12:45pm.
* Update #2- Still no power as of Friday, 11:30pm
*Update #3- WE HAVE POWER! It came on today, Saturday 1:25pm----
TOTAL TIME- 6 days, 2 hours, 10 minutes.....(it went out September 14th at 11:15am)

What Am I doing now? Lots of laundry & cleaning out the fridge (wiping down anyhow) lost a lot of food, so it now looks like a brand new fridge. Now I have to go grocery shopping. I have never been so excited to clean and do laundry in my life:)

Hope everyone has a great weekend. I know I will now.

It is crazy isn't it?? We were lucky to get our power back fairly quickly. A lot of our community is still with out power. Our school went back to school yesterday which I think is crazy. If half the community is with out power you should close the school!!

I HOPE and pray you will get power soon...

with love from across the river.

I hope your power comes back soon ... what a complete bummer ... the pictures all around the south are heart breaking ... thankfully you still have a roof to go back to ... Glad to hear you are safe and sound and staying with your mom and dad! I am sure Madeline is keeping everyone entertained!!! Hope you have a great weekend in spite of the lack of power ...

I think I would go nuts without power for a week and can't imagine replacing a freezer full of food. Glad you guys are making the best of it. I hope your power comes back sooner rather than later.

The winds were horrible on Sunday. I actually drove in them because our Latin Families group was supposed to have an outing on the Belle. Needless to say, it was cancelled. I hope your electricity is back on soon!!
