I have been tagged by Rebekah with an interesting tag post she got off the blog from Mymommyology. It asks questions about your "1st baby". Of course my baby, Madeline, is my one and only baby. So I have answered the questions and will tag a few blogging friends too. Enjoy.
1. Were you married at the time? Nope!
2. What were your reactions when you found out you were pregnant? Shocked as hell. I took 2 pregnancy tests and still did not believe it had happened. Lots of emotions too. I look back and thank god for life's surprises!
3. How old were you? 31, 32 when Madeline was born..
4. How did you find out you were pregnant? I had not thought about it much, but had realized my period was late and my co-worker said, maybe your pregnant. I laughed like what a crazy thought. As I was late (day 11) I thought, maybe I am. So I took a pregnancy test one morning before work and got a bit of a surprise. Of course I was still in shock and bought another test on my way to work and had my assistant watch the results. She was like, umm, you are for sure!
5. Who did you tell first? Well my employees at work knew first, of course, and then some very close friends I had in Memphis at the time. I wanted to tell my parents in person so I drove home that weekend to tell them face to face.
6. Did you want to find out the sex? Yes, I didn't think much about not finding out. Guess because all my friends did too. I am a planner and wanted to be ready as well. If I have another one someday, I would like to wait and it be a surprise!
8. Did you deliver early or late? My due date was March 27th. I had her on March 19th. It was a planned c-section because she was breech. Was on bed rest for 2 1/2 weeks after being hospitalized on March 3rd for high blood pressure. Best rest was a home.
9. Did you have morning sickness? Never, just very, very sore boobies! and super tired.
10. What did you crave? Oranges! and salad with buttermilk dressing (so not low fat type salad) I ate approx. 8-10 oranges a day. The woman at Kroger got to know me and would kid me that my baby was going to come out orange LOL.
11. Who irritated you the most? No one really.
12. What was your first child's sex? Baby Girl
13. How many pounds did you gain throughout the pregnancy? 45lbs! ( and it's still hanging around)
14. Did you have any complications during your pregnancy? High blood pressure- was on best rest 2 1/2 weeks.
15. Where did you give birth? Germantown Methodist, in Germantown, TN.
16. How many hours were you in labor?NONE! Was in the hospital at 3pm, but did not go back for my c-section until 7ish due to some emergency c-sections before me. Madeline was born at 7:52pm.
17. Who drove you to the hospital? MY mom & dad.
18. Who watched? Doc's and nurses - and well I cannot tell you everything!
19. Was it vaginal or c-section? She was cut right out of me!
20. Did you take medicine to ease the pain? Afterwards, yes- did it seem to help me, no!
21. How much did your child weigh? 7lbs, 10oz.
22. What did you name him/her? Madeline Mckenzie
23. How old is your first born today? 5 1/2 years old.....goodness how they grow! & in Kindergarten
